Sharpening Skills, Strengthening Partnership: Komptech and Viably Machine Training

Komptech and Viably Training Spring 2025

In February 2025, Viably’s Denver Headquarters welcomed members of Komptech GmbH for an in-depth, two-week training focused on two industry-leading machines: the Komptech Crambo and the Komptech Multistar XL3.

The Crambo single-shaft shredder is one of Komptech’s original machines, evolving over the years to incorporate advanced shredding technology. Ongoing training ensures that Viably’s team stays at the forefront of its capabilities. Meanwhile, the Multistar XL3 star screen, Viably’s most popular screening machine, has also seen significant advancements, especially with the introduction of conical star decks, which improve material screening efficiency.

Over the course of two days, Viably’s Parts, Service, and Sales teams participated in a combination of classroom and hands-on training. Classroom sessions covered key topics such as machine structure, operational safety, electrical schematics, and parts maintenance. The hands-on portion allowed team members to apply what they learned in real-time, with Komptech GmbH trainers simulating machine faults for troubleshooting exercises.

“The information presented in Denver was outstanding! Ralf Kaiser is one of the most knowledgeable people I’ve ever met, especially when it comes to electrical systems. His expertise is unmatched, and every session with him leaves me with something new. His passion for his profession is contagious!” said Jon “Slim” Burns, Viably’s lead trainer and seasoned service technician.

Of course, the training wasn’t all work and no play. At the end of the week, the teams participating gin the training, as well as other Viably team members, gathered for a casual happy hour, strengthening relationships beyond work. “I enjoyed getting to know the Komptech GmbH team on a more personal level. We communicate with them regularly, so learning about their interests outside of work was a great experience,” shared Kate Brookes, Viably’s Digital Marketing Manager.

The Komptech GmbH team will return in late 2025 for additional training on even more cutting-edge Komptech waste and recycling machines. These ongoing sessions are more than just educational—they’re a testament to the deep partnership between Komptech GmbH and Viably. By investing in continuous learning, we ensure that our team remains the best in the industry, equipped with the knowledge and skills to maximize performance, minimize downtime, and provide top-tier support.
