On October 16 and 17, Komptech equipment dealers from across North America gathered in Minneapolis, MN, to learn about new products, share industry insights, and celebrate accomplishments. This two-day dealer event was filled with high-energy activities, informative sessions, and valuable conversations that inspired and motivated attendees.
Komptech equipment dealers from across North America recently traveled to Minnesota to take part in a special annual event held by Viably (formerly Komptech Americas). This dealer-focused event kicked off with an evening dinner reception at the Target Center in downtown Minneapolis. Upon arriving at the sporting arena, guests were presented with a smorgasbord of casual food, delicious libations, and engaging conversation. Following the meal, attendees were invited to move through the curtained arena entrance tunnel entrance to the renowned hardwood of the Minnesota Timberwolves. For the next two hours, event guests had private access to shoot around on a professional NBA basketball court.
Let the Meeting Begin
On Tuesday morning, the keynote presentation by Viably President Brandon Lapsys opened the event with insights into the company’s values, growth, and plans for the future. Additional presentations were given by leadership team members from the Komptech GmbH factory and Northland Capital Equipment Finance. Insights were shared on the latest Komptech product innovations and available financing options and information. Attendees were especially excited to learn about the new Komptech product technologies to be launched.
Following a quick lunch, the group boarded a chartered bus and headed southwest to Shakopee, home of the SMSC Organics Recycling Facility. This high-caliber enterprise operation is owned and operated by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC), a federally recognized Native American tribe. The SMSC facility is the largest tribally-owned compost facility in the United States. The facility recycles organic waste from residential, commercial, and municipal customers, enabling the production of nutrient-rich, natural compost fertilizer for gardening, farming, and landscaping.
Dustin Montey, Assistant Manager, and Aaron Skelly, Environmental and Compliance Technician at SMSC, provided the Komptech Dealers with an informative, guided walkaround tour of the recycling facility. Dealers were able to see a variety of the SMSC’s Komptech machines in action around the facility, including the Komptech Topturn X windrow turner, the Komptech Crambo dual-shaft shredder, and two models of Komptech Multistar star screens.
Demonstrating Komptech Technologies
One of the highlights of the annual 2023 Komptech Dealer Event was the close-up, live-action look at Komptech’s innovative new products to hit the market, including the new Komptech Lacero 8010 high-speed grinder and the Komptech Terminator xtron, high-torque, single-shaft waste shredder. In addition to material downsizing solutions, the Multistar One star screen and a newly engineered screening deck in the Komptech Multistar XXL-2 star screen were featured in a live-action display. Komptech product experts were on hand to give post-demonstration walkarounds, showcasing each product’s new features and answering attendees’ questions.
Later that evening, dealers and team members from Viably, Komptech GmbH, and Northland Capital came together for an exceptional meal to close the two-day event. Brandon Lapsys of Viably presented a special Dealer of the Year award to Powerscreen of Florida for their outstanding performance and dedication to serving Komptech customers throughout the year. The award recognizes North American Komptech dealer groups contributing to annual sales growth, product innovation, and exceptional customer service. The packed room erupted with applause when the Powerscreen of Florida winners were announced, ending the event on a celebratory note.
